A puzzle hunt company (www.cityhunt.no) that provides an outdoor game with a capacity of up to a 100 players at once, with a second game in development. As a result, the game is rather popular with corporate teambuilding groups. The company has also developed its own online puzzle hunt interactive platform, allowing quick game development and deployment. See Tripadvisor page.
An immersive theater company (www.thespygame.no) with a game set in the Cold War era, where 4-12 players interact with two actors, and get to be at the center of creating their own story. See Tripadvisor Page.
No Escape AS was founded in 2014 by four puzzle enthusiasts with combined professional expertise in education, medicine, mathematics and computer science. For the past four years, our escape rooms have been enjoying a dominating position on the market in our region. Last year we expanded to two new markets by creating new types of games: a puzzle hunt which appeals to large groups of up to 100 players at once; and an immersive theater game. Both have a sizable growth potential; in the case of CityHunt it can potentially scale even beyond the regional and national market.
No Escape AS owns CityHunt AS and Immerse AS. No Escape AS is the largest of the three, and currently employs two full-time managers, 22 gamemasters and a few subsidiary employees. CityHunt AS employs one manager who works part-time, and 10 gamemasters. Immerse AS has one part-time manager and 11 actor/gamemasters. Business is largely autonomous, as it needed to be with most of the owners having other full-time jobs.
The background for selling is that the original owners are soon to have five kids between them - meaning a lot of diaper changes and not enough time to develop the three companies to their maximal potential.Thus the company is in need of new ownership that can better make use of this potential.
Annual revenue was just over 4.2 M NOK (494 K USD) in 2017, and has been increasing for every year. Halfway through 2018 revenue had reached 2.2 M NOK (259 K USD). With new games in development, there is further expected increase in revenues shortly.
