Outdoor Game FAQs

We are a group of 20+ and would like to book an outdoor game.

Cityhunt games are ideal for bigger groups! Our booking system allows bookings of up to 20 but we can accept far bigger groups if we have a little time to prepare, so please contact us for the arrangements.

What should we wear for an outdoor game?

Since it is outdoors, please dress appropriately. Remember that there is no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing. In case the weather turns out to be really unpleasant, you can hide somewhere warm and solve some of the puzzles indoors.

How far do we have to walk in your outdoor games?

The Great Crime is around 3km. The Lost rune is around 1km. Curse of the Golden Phoenix is around 1.5km. The walking is all on city centre streets - no mountain climbing!

How physically demanding are the outdoor games?

Not very. There is no set time limit so you can go at your own pace.

What languages are the games in?

All our games are available both in English and Norwegian (the 'Hanseaticus' Escape Room requires very little knowledge of any language).

Where do we meet for an outdoor game?

Please meet us at the Escape Room location at Bryggen 35. We might arrange a different meeting spot for larger groups but this will be discussed prior to your game. If you wish to request an alternate meeting spot please contact us.

Is there an age limit?

Children under the age of 15 need adult supervision. The puzzles themselves are likely to be too difficult for children under the age of ten. Children under the age of 8 may be present in the room/participate in the game (at no extra charge) so long as an 18+ adult is in the room with them at all times (or accompanying them during outdoor games).

Can we take a break mid outdoor game?

Yes! There is no set time limit so you can go at your own pace, maybe stop for lunch along the way or take a detour for some sight seeing!

Do you serve food? Do you have a meal deal?

We do not offer food on site but have a great deal with Inside Rock Cafe a short walk from Bryggen - 20% off food (plus other discounts) for all Escape Bryggen customers!

Do you accept Ledsagerbevis?

Yes! Both the owner of the ledsagerbevis and the ledsager get 20% off (just select the student/child option when booking).

Do I need to bring anything for an outdoor game?

Other than suitable clothing The Great Crime requires a smartphone with data. The Lost Rune does not require anything else.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have one of the most generous and flexible policies in the industry! You only pay for those that play on the day (thought please be aware that our teambuildings games have a minimum price of 10 adult players), and you can cancel for any reason and receive a full refund just so long as we have 24 hours notice (unless otherwise specified). If you cancel within 24 hours there is a 100% cancellation fee.

Do I need to download anything?

No - The Great Crime will require access to a website but nothing is required to be downloaded beforehand.

Is there wheelchair access?

Unfortunately, due to the age of the building at Bryggen we do not have the ability to receive customers in wheelchairs. Wheelchair access is possible at Strandgaten 7 but please call to discuss your requirements. Our outdoor games are suitable for wheelchair users but please be aware some streets, especially around Bryggen, may be a little uneven/bumpy.

Can we pay by invoice?

If you are a registered Norwegian organisation then yes. You can select this option when making a booking (though please be aware there is a small Faktura fee for this). The invoice will be sent shortly after the game is played.

Can we play at a custom time?

If you can not find a time slot that is suitable please contact us and we will do our best to find a solution that fits.
